- 8:00 AM: Pick-up from Muscat
Your personal, English-speaking Omani guide will meet you at your hotel or a preferred location in Muscat to begin your scenic drive towards the historic city of Nizwa, the former capital of Oman. (Approximately 1.5-hour drive)
- 9:30 AM: Nizwa Exploration
Immerse yourself in the rich history and culture of Nizwa.
- Nizwa Fort: Explore the imposing 17th-century Nizwa Fort, a magnificent example of Omani architecture. Marvel at its iconic circular tower and learn about its strategic importance.
- Nizwa Souq: Wander through the traditional Nizwa Souq, where you can browse stalls filled with aromatic spices, handcrafted silver jewelry, pottery, and local delicacies.
- 11:30 AM: Jabal Akhdar Ascent
Ascend the majestic Jabal Akhdar mountain (The Green Mountain). The drive itself is an adventure, offering panoramic views of the terraced valleys and ancient villages clinging to the mountainside.
- 1:00 PM: Birkat Al Mouz & Wadi Bani Habib
We will stop at the charming village of Birkat Al Mouz, a hidden oasis with ancient mud-brick ruins. We will also visit the historic, abandoned village of Wadi Bani Habib, where you can walk through its stone ruins and admire the surrounding terraced farms and lush greenery that gave the mountain its name.
- 2:00 PM: Diana’s Point & Lunch
Visit the iconic Diana’s Point, a breathtaking viewpoint where Princess Diana once stood to admire the spectacular vista of the terraced farms below. Capture stunning photographs of this remarkable landscape. We will then enjoy a delicious traditional Omani lunch at a local restaurant.
- 4:00 PM: Return Journey
Begin your return journey to Muscat, filled with unforgettable memories of your Jabal Akhdar and Nizwa adventure. (Approximately 1.5-hour drive)
