Our local guides, who will be your hosts throughout the journey, will be introduced to you, you will be taken to their home for a delightful cup of Omani coffee.
As you embark on this seven-day trip across the Wahiba Sands, you will witness the captivating beauty of this tourist attraction in Oman. This unique opportunity allows you to traverse the desert from north to south, following in the footsteps of the local Bedouins who once traveled this route on camels, adapting to the seasons. It’s important to note that this trip requires good physical health and does not offer luxury amenities. In certain areas, mobile phone network coverage may be limited, and there will be instances where walking is necessary. However, rest assured that the experience will be worth it, and the meals provided will be traditional Omani cuisine, ensuring a delicious culinary journey.
While our local guides are experienced with the trip and itinerary, it’s important to note that their English may not be fluent. In certain instances, it might be necessary to wear long clothing when visiting local homes to respect cultural norms. On the first day of the trip, you will embark on a camel ride, where you will be introduced to these magnificent creatures and enjoy a delightful lunch. The journey continues until sunset, where we will make a stop at a private camp, providing you with a comfortable and authentic desert experience.
The program for the following four days will be similar, taking you through Bedouin communities and allowing you to visit the Grand Mosque nestled within the heart of the Wahiba Desert. On the seventh and final day, the camel caravan will reach the shores of the Arabian Sea around noon. Take this opportunity to relax and rejuvenate on the beach before we transport you back to the Bidiya safari office by car.
