The tour starts with a warm welcome at our office in Bidiyah, the gateway to the Wahiba desert’s. The sand stretches over 190 km to the south and is famous for its breathtaking beauty and rich wildlife. You’ll meet your local guide, who will provide all the necessary details about the trip, including important information about camels and their significance in desert life. Afterward, you’ll be directed to your guide’s home, where you’ll enjoy a cup of Omani coffee and dates, a symbol of Omani hospitality.
Your first meeting with the camels will be assisted by your guide, who will help you to approach these unique animals. Then, you’ll start your first camel ride and lunch break under the shade of a desert tree in the valley. Your guide will prepare lunch at home and deliver it fresh to your resting place. After a brief rest until 3 p.m., the second part of the trip will begin, which will continue until sunset.

You’ll arrive at a Bedouin camp between the dunes as the day ends. Here, you’ll spend your first night and experience the authentic Bedouin customs and traditions. The Bedouin guide will share the ancient ways of life with you, and you’ll gather around the campfire, preparing a cup of coffee or tea while exchanging conversations about the stories and events of the day or old stories from the past.

It is highly recommended to wake up early, even if it may be difficult and not part of your daily routine. You can climb up one of the dunes to watch the sunrise. Your guide will prepare breakfast, coffee, and camels for the day’s journey. The trip will begin early in the morning and continue until lunchtime. After a lunch break, relaxing, and napping, the journey resumes for a distance of over 18 km. You will eventually reach the home of the Bedouin family, who will host you for the night. After dinner, you can gather around the campfire and get to know them better. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about their straightforward and spontaneous lifestyle. The visitors and the Bedouin family will exchange conversations and ideas openly, attempting to communicate in each other’s language. In the desert, it is customary for people to wake up early due to the harsh nature of the environment. Daily chores, such as feeding and milking animals, are carried out in the mild morning weather.
